BIO

Photography has always been a passion for me, but one that has all too often taken a back burner for one reason or another (life, jobs, lack of equipment, funds or time, etc). Despite these lapses, I am always looking at the world through a photographic filter… a metaphorical filter if not a literal one. In recent years, I have been working toward a somewhat undefined goal, but one that definitely involves travelling and capturing photos of the landscapes and experiences I encounter, as well as anything else that catches my eye.

Born and raised in London until the age of 10, I spent the next 28 years or so living in various parts of America, in or around New York, Miami, San Francisco and Lake Tahoe before moving back to the UK in 2011 to rediscover where it all began for me. After a brief stay in London, I set off for Costa Rica in mid-2011 to fulfil another long-held dream of exploring Central America for a few months.

I wound up spending well over a year living in Costa Rica and travelling through parts of Nicaragua and Panama. Armed with a newly acquired Compact DSLR, I managed to capture lots of great shots, but sadly, less than 6 months into my stay I was violently robbed in an armed home invasion and lost everything including my camera and the computer that stored virtually all of the photos I had acquired. For a photographer, this is the hardest – and most heartbreaking – way to learn the importance of keeping and updating backups! For a web designer who makes his living on a computer, it was devastating.

Now, once again based in London I am trying to expand my portfolio by taking advantage of the beautiful scenery in the United Kingdom and other parts of Europe as time and travel funds permit.

Mission

I strive to improve my photography by continuing to study the medium while exploring new places to capture what I find. I dream of chucking it all in one day and travelling the World…in my case, to capture beautiful memories in the form of images. More specifically, I want to explore new places in order to capture images and write pieces that inspire, inform or educate. This is my passion and although I do hope to be able to support myself through my photography and writing one day, the truth is that I would do it for free.

Support

I appreciate you spending some time to read this and look through my work, and am grateful for your support.

If you are interested in hiring me, exhibiting my images or would like to commission some photographs for your collection, please feel free to contact me to discuss the project in more detail.

Lastly, if you are one of those lucky people who are in a position to make dreams come true and would like to donate to a worthy cause (aka my travel and equipment fund), I would be eternally grateful.
